Carrie Marie Underwood
was born March 10th 1983 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and raised on a farm in the small rural town of Checotah, Oklahoma. She rose to fame in 2005 on the fourth season of American Idol, which she won. She has a bachelor's degree in mass communications with an emphasis in journalism from Northeastern State University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
